Stoked Dogs is happy to be offering Group Adventure Walks for dogs in Revelstoke, BC.
Adventure Walks are for the dogs, or teenage dogs (minimum of 6 months old), who could greatly benefit from some off-leash and social fun with other dogs and a good run. Walks are approximately 1 hour long with overall time away from home longer due to picking up and drop off times. These are perfect for those who need a bit of extra help meeting their dogs social and exercise needs.
Are Adventure Walks right for my dog?
These outings are right for your dog if your dog is: 1) Social and gets along well with other dogs; 2) Is comfortable leaving with a stranger and getting into a vehicle they are unfamiliar with; 3) Is in good physical shape without injury.
How do you manage off-leash dogs?
All dogs that are a part of Stoked Dogs Adventures are graduated into off-leash freedom. Walks start with developing a relationship between the walker and the dogs based on reinforcement of appropriate behaviours and working on recall. Long-lines are used at first with all dogs to ensure safety. These are then graduated to drag-lines (where the dog drags the line) and eventually the dog is left fully off-leash. GPS collars are used for some dogs as needed.
The Fine Print:
Spots for Adventure Walks limited as this service is only offered a couple days a week. Preference is given to dogs who participate in walks weekly as this provides the best social opportunities for the dogs.
Up-to-date vaccinations are required for all dogs.
All service times do not include travel time.
All dogs are subject to a trial walk 1 on 1 with the walker ahead of walking with other dogs. These must be scheduled with Stoked Dogs and are $25 payable be e-transfer. Trial walks are 45 minutes long including travel time. After trial walks are completed, dogs may be evaluated over a couple of walks with other dogs. Not all dogs will be a good fit for group adventure walks. Stoked Dogs always prioritizes the wellbeing of all the dogs within their care.
Pricing: Walks $35 a walk. For dogs who participate in at least 4 walks per month, the price is lowered to $32.50 per walk. Walks are billed monthly at the end of the month and payable by e-transfer.
