Why us?

Why Stoked Dogs?

We didn’t just call ourselves Stoked Dogs because we’re based in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Stoked Dogs is our entire philosophy. We believe that the dog-human relationship should have both parties stoked on working together!

If you’re looking for help to train your dog or help dealing with problematic behaviours and want to work with someone who is committed to the wellbeing of your dog, using the most up to date science-backed methods, and who wants to see you succeed, then Stoked Dogs is for you.

We believe that dog training shouldn’t feel like a chore, it should be fun! We plan to make that happen for you by helping you better understand your dog, giving you the tools and knowledge you need to succeed, all the while improving your relationship with your dog.

Methods

The dog training industry doesn’t have any regulation whatsoever. We believe that should change and that dog training professionals should be held to a high standard. We certainly hold ourselves up to that standard and are voluntarily certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. That certification means we use only the most modern dog training methods that are proven to improve your dog’s wellbeing, and in order to maintain this certification, we have to continue learning and improving as professionals through a minimum number of continuing education credits.

At Stoked Dogs, we do not use ecollars/shock collars, prong collars, choke chains, and martingales in our training. We achieve our training and behavioural goals through established and humane training methods. If you’ve ever used one of those tools, don’t worry, we won’t judge you. Those tools are still being promoted by dog training professionals all over. But thankfully, at Stoked Dogs, we have the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to help your dog without them!

If you’ve got any of the tools mentioned above at home and never want to use them again, please ask us about our aversive tool surrender discount for your training session.
