Are you a part of the midnight dog-walkers club because you dread running into other dogs on your walks? Does your otherwise friendly dog look like they want to start a k9 fight-club the moment they see another dog on the street? If you’re dealing with reactivity to dogs and you want to learn how to deal with it, then Over-Stoked Rovers is for you!
Reactivity is an emotional regulation problem for dogs. It’s generally caused by frustration or fear (or a combination of the two) that floods your dog the moment they see their trigger and the result is a big outburst that generally looks quite aggressive. To address reactivity, we need to go to the core of the issue. This class is all about learning how to manage reactivity and how to change it through behavioural modification techniques.
The first of the five 1 hour classes will take place virtually. This is the humans-only class where we will go over reactivity, how we’ll start to work to approach it in a class setting and how the classes will be structured and safe handling. The following 4 classes will take place in an indoor space (with the dogs) but may sometimes go outside for added challenges during training. IMPORTANT: You will require to bring your vehicle to the training. This is because for some dogs, the duration of the class is too long for exposure to their triggers and they will require shorter exposures to the working time inside. More details on this will be covered during the first session.
What you can expect from this class is coming out of it with the skills and knowledge you need to continue to improve your dog’s reactivity. There are no guaranteed timelines for resolving behavioural issues and most dogs will not resolve their reactivity within 5 weeks, but you’ll have the skills you need to confidently keep moving forward in your dog’s behavioural modification journey by the end of the class.

Cancellation Policy
For classes, full refunds will be issued if classes are cancelled at least five business days ahead of the start of the class. For cancellations within 5 business days of the start of the class, a $100 cancellation fee may be applied if the spot is not filled by the start of class.
